Is COAST Physical Therapy Specialists open during California’s “shelter-in-place” order?

Yes. Medical therapy services (physical, occupational, speech) are considered essential healthcare services under the current State mandate.

What is COAST Physical Therapy Specialists doing to protect patients, families, staff, and our community?

We value and prioritize the health, safety, and wellbeing of our clients, their families, clinical team members, and our community. We continue to consult and adapt to the latest guidelines from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, California Public Health, Ventura County Public Health, and the California Physical Therapy Association to ensure we are practicing safely.

More specifically, here are the steps we are taking based on these guidelines to keep everyone safe:

  • Continuous monitoring and implementation of any updates from community health officials
  • Ongoing proper handwashing and thorough cleaning of all objects and surfaces in accordance with community health official guidelines
  • Screening individuals at risk for contracting or spreading illness and referring out of our facility for proper care
  • What can I do as a patient or family member of a patient of COAST Physical Therapy Specialists to ensure my safety and the safety of my family and community?
  • Stay home if you are sick (except to get appropriate medical care)
  • Practice proper hand and wrist hygiene
  • o Wash your hands and wrists often with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds
  • o Use hand sanitizer as available
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash and wash your hands
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Avoid touching your eyes, face, and mouth
  • In order to protect our most vulnerable clientele, please notify us if you are: Aged 65 years or older and have:

    • A compromised immune system
    • A serious ongoing medical condition such as
      • Heart disease
      • Diabetes
      • Lung disease
    • If you do have these conditions, please discuss with your doctor and therapist to determine if therapy is appropriate for you
