COAST Physical Therapy Specialists is an out-patient clinic in Oxnard, CA. Established in 1991 with the intent on setting new benchmarks for quality of care in the areas of Orthopedic and Sports Therapy. As our name implies, we specialize in the evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries and pain. Our mission is to provide the highest quality, outcome based physical therapy, utilizing our advanced post-graduate training and experience in Manual Therapy to assist you in maximizing your well-being. Detailed evaluations are carried out by the therapist and management decisions are developed to accomplish specific short term and long term goals.

Treatment is often in the form of hands on manual therapy, but therapeutic exercise and modalities such as ice and ultrasound may be used as an adjunct. Our therapists have advanced skills in manual therapy which also includes a high level of critical thinking and clinical reasoning. This assures you that your therapist is considering all possibilities for the source(s) of your problem and that an open minded and individual approach will occur. Additionally, since the evaluation process is very specific, our treatment techniques are very specific and therefore usually most effective.

All of our therapists have advanced, post-graduate manual therapy training from an accredited institution or program. We are one of the only practices in the area with physical therapists whom have a Fellow distinction from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy (AAOMPT) and/or are certified by the American Physical Therapy Association as an Orthopaedic Specialist.

A Fellow distinction is given to a physical therapist who completes a post-graduate residency/fellowship program consisting of 440 supervised clinical practice hours and 200 hours of classroom instruction in theory, principles of evaluation and treatment, and clinical decision making. The clinical and classroom training is followed by written, oral and live patient exams. Though quite exhaustive and intense, graduates of these types of programs posses skills far superior to anything less. We are proud of these accomplishments and are confident you will notice the difference.
